Returning to the Grain Based in the rolling hills of Porrentruy, The Hearth Stone is a one-man workshop dedicated to the revival of stone-ground heritage. Founded by master mason Arthur Penhaligon, we believe that the soul of a good loaf of bread or a perfect polenta begins with the friction between two perfectly hand-carved stones. "To grind corn is to release the sun trapped inside the grain. My job is to ensure that the stone respects the harvest."
